Prior to joining Elevate, Benjamin Francis Phelan was the Chief Creative Office of Luminous Media LLC, specializing in interactive and immersive media for live exhibition and the web. Before founding Luminous Media, he served as a programming and acquisitions executive for the Starz Encore Group, managing film curation and original production for twelve premium cable movie networks. During his tenure with Starz, he was instrumental in launching the Starz Cinema channel, featuring “smart films with a creative point of view” from Fine Line, Miramax, Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures and independent filmmakers. As a producer and Director of Program Development for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, his award-winning primetime series and specials were broadcast on the BBC, Bravo, Comcast, PBS, and HDNet, and international networks from Scandinavia to the Middle East.
