18 Jun / “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
Joseph Campbell dedicated his life to understanding the human journey, or as he called it, The Hero’s Journey.” By studying mythos of all cultures past and present he learned there are common plot lines. The golden thread is that the hero of just about every story discovers that the greatest power that exists is found within their own heart. The journey we embark on serves merely as a catalyst to unlock our hero within. The fact is, heroism is on the rise! Everyday citizens are stepping up in record numbers to take care of each other and our world. So much so that the prestigious Carnegie Hero Award has had to greatly increase their qualifications in order to handle the growing amount of nominations each year. In celebration of all of the ordinary extraordinary heroes out there, we’ve edited a series of clips that show the side of humanity we feel deserves more air time. Check out this 5 minute video, and if inspired, we’d love to hear from you!
