01 Jul / Imba Means Sing
“Imba Means Sing” is an independent documentary feature film following the journey of 20 Ugandan children from the slums of Uganda to the United States, Canada, the U.K and back again, performing as the Grammy-nominated African Children’s Choir. The audience is taken on this journey, experiencing the joy, wonder, homesickness and longing for a better life—right along with the kids.
Every one of the Choir children comes from a family too poor to send him or her to school. Thanks to their 18-month world tour with the Choir, these children will now have their education funded through university. Former Choir members are now human rights attorneys, HIV/AIDS doctors, famous journalists, engineers and celebrated musicians uplifting their communities on their own. All donations to the film are tax-deductible through our 501c3 Fiscal Sponsor, the Creative Visions Foundation. Plus, “Imba Means Sing” is donating 100% of film profits to the Choir’s relief, development and music education work on the ground in seven African nations.
